You must unapologetically show those you lead that you’ve got unshakeable faith in them; if you do, watch them elevate themselves and their productivity to not just meet but surpass your expectations.

How can I practically begin demonstrating my belief in those crucial people around me? Consider a few places to begin that may help you brainstorm potential actions.

  • Communicate your unwavering trust and belief in them, both verbally and through your actions, well before they achieve success.
  • Highlight their strengths by praising their accomplishments, both privately and publicly.
  • Reflect on their past successes. Everyone deserves recognition for the positive impact they’ve had on others.
  • Instill confidence in them during failures. Remind them that success is a journey, a continuous process, not a destination. Never allow the fear of failure to hinder their efforts.
  • Celebrate victories together. Acknowledge their contributions to the team and ask, “How can we build on this?”
  • Encourage them to visualize their future success. Their need for hope is as essential as any of their basic physical needs being met.
  • Expect a new level of growth – investing your faith in others means embracing the unknown.
